BATAVIA POLICE BLOTTER/Man in custody accused of kicking door and injuring officer

On 10/28/2023, Robert D. Griffin, 45, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Contempt 1st degree. It’s alleged that Griffin sent multiple harassing text messages and voicemails to the protected party, in an order of protection. While in police custody, Griffin allegedly kicked a door which hit and injured an officer. He was additionally charged with Assault 2nd degree. Griffin was arraigned in CAP Court and held without bail. He is due in Batavia City Court, at a later date.

On 10/27/2023, Martin J. Rodgers, 39, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Assault 3rd degree and Wayne D. Potter, 40, also of Batavia, was arrested and charged with Attempted Assault 3rd degree. Both were charged following an investigation into an altercation that occurred on 10/14/2023, on West Main Street. Rodgers and Potter were each issued an appearance ticket and are due in Batavia City Court, at a later date.

On 10/29/2023, Haley M. Larnder, 24, of Batavia, NY, was arrested on a bench warrant out of Batavia City Court. Larnder was initially arrested on 3/19/2023 and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. She was issued an appearance ticket and was to appear in court at a later date. She allegedly failed to appear, and a warrant was issued on 4/11/2023. She was arrested on the warrant on 4/21/2023. She was arraigned in City Court and released on her own recognizance. Larnder again allegedly failed to appear in court, and another warrant was issued on 6/22/2023. She was arrested on that warrant on 8/2/2023. She was arraigned in CAP Court and released. She again failed to appear in court and a third warrant was issued on 8/21/2023. She was located and arrested on 10/29. She was arraigned in CAP Court where she was again released on her own recognizance. She is due back in court on 11/14/2023.

On 10/24/2023, Heather N. Holbrook, 38, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. The arrest is the result of an investigation into an incident on 7/14/2023, where Holbrook was arrested on an unrelated warrant. During the arrest, she was allegedly found to be in possession of narcotics. Holbrook was arraigned in CAP Court and held in the Genesee County Jail. She is due back in Batavia City Court, at a later date.

On 10/30/2023, Jeffrey D. Bald, 41, of LeRoy, NY, was arrested and charged with Burglary 2nd degree and Petit Larceny. It’s alleged that Bald entered a residence on East Main Street and stole property. Bald was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail. He is due back in court on 11/22/2023.   

On 10/27/2023, Jeffrey D. Bald, 41, of LeRoy, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 4th degree. Bald was charged after he allegedly damaged property at a residence on East Main Street. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 11/7/2023.

    

On 10/28/2023, Timothy J. Stump, 51, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 4th degree. Stump was charged after an investigation into an incident, on Highland Park where he allegedly damaged property inside a residence. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court on 11/7/2023.

On 10/28/2023, Lawrence J. Sharpstene, 44, of Batavia, NY, was arrested on an arrest warrant out of Batavia City Court. Sharpstene was initially charged on 8/28/2023 with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree and expired inspection after a traffic stop on East Avenue. Sharpstene was issued traffic tickets. The warrant was issued after he allegedly failed to appear in court. Sharpstene was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released. He is due back in court on 11/14/2023.

On 10/27/2023, James J. Richardson, 45, of Sweden, NY, was charged with Harassment 2nd degree. Richardson was arrested after an incident at TF Brown’s where he allegedly struck another person in the face. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court at a later date.
