GENESEE COUNTY/Rochester man facing felony drug charges after 6-month investigation

The Genesee County Local Drug Task Force arrested a Rochester man after a 6-month investigation into the possession, transportation and sale of crack cocaine in and around Genesee County.

Alterique Day, 51, of Rochester, NY, was taken into custody on a sealed indictment warrant out of Genesee County Court on November 7, 2023, with assistance from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

He is charged with one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd degree and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, both class B felonies.

Day is accused of selling a quantity of fentanyl to an agent of the Genesee County Drug Task Force in the town of Batavia.

In August of 2023, Day was also the subject of a search warrant executed by the Genesee Drug Task Force in the City of Batavia. Day was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal possession of weapon and was held on those charges, but eventually released on bond.

Day was arraigned on the sealed indictment charges in Genesee County Court and released on recognizance in accordance with bail reform laws.

Task Force members were assisted by Uniformed Deputies of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Uniformed Deputies of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the Genesee County District Attorney’s Office
