GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Inmate at jail accused of covering camera with shaving cream

Sylvan P. Grayson, 24, of W. Main St., Batavia, NY, is accused of obstructing governmental administration 2nd degree, after allegedly obscuring the view of a camera at the Genesee County Jail with shaving cream on November 5, 2023 where Grayson is currently being held.

Grayson was arrested and returned to the custody of the Genesee County Jail. He will appear in Batavia City Court on November 21, 2023 at 1:00p.m.

Brian W. Kennedy, 47, of E. Main St., Batavia, NY, is charged with petit larceny, possession of burglar tools and conspiracy 6th degree, after allegedly entering Dick’s Sporting Goods on Veteran’s Memorial Drive and removing a security tag from a coat and then exiting the store, passing all points of sale without paying.

Kennedy was located moments later inside Walmart.

He was processed at the Genesee County Jail and issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Batavia Court on November 28, 2023 at 1:00p.m.

The case was handled by Deputy Cummings, Ferando and Schildwaster.

John J. Saddler Jr., 36, of W. Main St., Batavia, NY, is charged with petit larceny after allegedly stealing a commissary bag from the Genesee County Jail during a commissary distribution on November 6, 2023.

Saddler was issued an appearance ticket and released to the custody of the Genesee County Jail.

He is due to appear in Batavia City Court on November 21, 2023 at 1:00p.m.
