Deputies responded to an address in the Town of Castile for a 911 investigation that turned into a
domestic violence incident.
After investigation, Mark Washburn, 34, of Castile, NY was placed under arrest and charged with criminal mischief 4th degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Washburn was arraigned at the Town of Warsaw Court and was released on recognizance.
A full stay away order of protection was put in place. Washburn is to return to Castile Court at a later date to answer the charges.

On November 12, 2023, at approximately 1:40 a.m., a Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputy was
patrolling East Koy Road in the Town of Genesee Falls, when the deputy discovered a vehicle off the road.
After speaking with the operator of the vehicle, Aaron Carmichael, 37, of Gainesville, NY, the deputy
recognized possible signs of impairment from alcohol. Carmichael was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Testing which he performed poorly on. Carmichael was then transported to the Wyoming
County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content
(BAC).
Deputies say Carmichael tested positive for alcohol with a BAC of .08% or more.
Carmichael was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and driving with a BAC of
.08% or higher along with other Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions.
Carmichael was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in Genesee Falls Town Court on November 22, 2023.

John S. Smithers, 61, of Yorkshire, NY, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree following a traffic stop for an inspection violation in the Town of Arcade on November 11, 2023.
Smithers allegedly had seven different active suspensions on his license on three different dates.
Smithers was processed roadside where he was issued an appearance ticket. He will appear in the Town of Arcade Court on 12/07/2023.
