WYOMING COUNTY/Perry/Police charge man for reportedly following a woman and her children in a store

Perry Police Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Perry resident following an Investigation by the Perry Police Department.

On November 29, 2023, Officers from the Perry Police Department spoke with an individual that stated she and her children were being followed at the Perry Marketplace, at 121 N. Center Street, by a male.

On December 2nd, after an investigation into the incident, Sergeant Russell and Officer Smith arrested Monji Jelassi, 64, of Perry, NY, charging him with two counts of harassment 2nd degree.

Monji was arraigned by Honorable Judge Kelsey for the purpose of obtaining an order of protection for the victims. Monji is set to appear in Perry Village court on December 12, 2023 at 1:00P.M
