WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/April 24, 2024

On April 8, 2024, at about 2:18a.m., a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was
operating stationary patrol on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon, when a black SUV was
observed traveling westbound in the hamlet of Varysburg.

A registration check revealed that the vehicle’s registration was suspended for an insurance lapse and a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted on Route 20A near Route 98 North.

The driver was identified as Alejandro Soriano, 33, of East Elmhurst, NY. Soriano was arrested and charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended/Revoked Registration.

Soriano was processed roadside and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.

On April 7, 2024, at about 12:28a.m., a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling southbound on Silver Lake Road in the Town of Perry, when another vehicle was also observed traveling southbound.

A random registration check revealed the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license, and an investigative vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted on Silver Lake Road near Burke Hill Road.

The driver was identified as Robert W. Schmidt III, 28, of Perry, NY, who held a suspended NYS driver’s license. Schmidt was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree and was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Perry Court at a later date.

On April 7, 2024, at about 4:51a.m., a deputy from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Perry.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Valerie G. Pelino, 32, of Orchard Park. Pelino was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration due to an insurance

lapse. Pelino was subsequently arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle with Registration Suspended. Pelino was processed roadside and issued an appearance ticket.

Pelino is scheduled to appear in the Town of Perry Court at a later date.

Irfan Mehmood, 50, of Ontario, Canada, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon.

Through investigation it was discovered that Mehmood had a suspended driving status in New York State. Mehmood was arrested and charged with speed in zone and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree.

Mehmood was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date for further proceedings.

Ebow A. Biney, 21, of NY, NY, was arrested following an investigation into a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon.

Biney was initially stopped for traveling over the posted speed limit. Through investigation it was discovered that Biney’s vehicle was suspended for insurance not in effect.

Biney was subsequently arrested and charged with speed in zone, operating without insurance
and suspended registration. Biney was released on an appearance ticket and it to appear int the Town of
Sheldon Court at a later date for further proceedings.

Following a traffic stop for a speeding violation (77/55) on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon, deputies arrested Amna Tariq, 35, of Scarborough, Ontario.

Tariq is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree.

Tariq was found to be operating with one active suspension on her license from 04/14/2010.

Tariq was processed roadside and given an appearance ticket, she is due back in the Town of Sheldon Court on 05/06/24.

Following a traffic stop, after an automated license plate reader hit for suspended registration, deputies
arrested owner/operator, Ashton W. Longwell, 23, of Binghamton NY, for operating a motor
vehicle while registration was suspended.

It was confirmed that Longwell’s registration was suspended due to an insurance lapse, along with his license, showing to have two active suspensions.

Longwell was processed roadside and given an appearance ticket on the charges. He due back in the Town of Sheldon Court on 04/22/2024.

On April 14, 2024, deputies on patrol observed a vehicle speeding in Varysburg. The vehicle was travleing westbound at 59 MPH in a 35 MPH speed zone.

A traffic stop was conducted and it was found the driver, Dominique P. Davis, 41, of Brooklyn, NY, was currently suspended in New York State for failing to answer a summons.

Davis was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree and issued citations for
speed in zone and aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree. Davis will answer the charges on May 13th, 2024 in the Town of Sheldon Court

On April 14, 2024, at about 6:34a.m., a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was
operating stationary radar on Route 39 in the Town of Castile, when a white pickup truck was observed traveling northbound at a high rate of speed.

The deputy visually estimated the vehicle’s speed and confirmed it with radar at 74mph in a marked 55mph zone. A vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted near Kennedy Road. Deputies discovered there were no license plates visible on the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Gary D. Thomas Jr., 27, of Pittsford, NY, who admitted to not
having a license and the vehicle was not registered. Data checks were performed on the vehicle
and Thomas’s license showed the vehicle hadn’t been registered since 2022, and was not
inspected, and had no insurance and Thomas possessed a non-driver ID only which was suspended
15 times.

Thomas was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd degree, Speed Over 55mph, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, Operating without Insurance and Unlicensed Operator. Thomas was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Castile Town Court at a later date.

On April 15, 2024, at approximately 09:02p.m., Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to
a one car crash on Keeney Road in the Town of Warsaw.

After speaking with the operator of the vehicle, Cassie Drozdowski, 34, of Castile, NY the deputy recognized alleged signs of impairment from drugs. Drozdowski was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Testing which she performed poorly on.

Drozdowski then submitted to a drug recognition evaluation and was believed to be impaired by drugs.
Drozdowski was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired along with other traffic
infractions.

Drozdowski was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in Warsaw Town Court on
April 29, 2024.

On April 19, 2024, at about 12:04p.m., a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office
assigned to the Operation Stonegarden detail, was patrolling westbound on Route 20A in
the Town of Sheldon, when a white SUV was also observed traveling westbound.

A registration check on the vehicle showed the registration was suspended for an insurance lapse and a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted on Route 20A near Folsomdale Road.

The driver was identified as Bryan M. Davidson, 52, of Houghton, NY who is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended/Revoked Registration.

Davidson was processed roadside and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Sheldon Town Court at a later date.

On April 19, 2024, Camilo S. Audor-Plaza, 23, of Linden, New Jersey, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Perry.

Audor-Plaza was stopped after traveling over the posted speed limit. Through investigation, it was discovered that Audor-Plaza’s driving privileges in the State of New York were suspended.

Audor-Plaza was arrested and charged with speeding and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree.

Audor-Plaza was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Town of Perry Court on a later date for further proceedings.

On April 20, 2024, at about 4:32a.m., a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was
conducting stationary patrol on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon, when a yellow box truck was observed traveling westbound.

A registration check showed the vehicle’s registration was suspended for an insurance lapse and a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted on Route 20A near Old State Road. While stopping the vehicle, it was also observed that there was no rear license plate displayed on the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Thankgod E. Raphael, 35, of Tonawanda, NY. Upon further
investigation, it was discovered that the license plate displayed on the front bumper was not the
registration that belonged on the vehicle.

Raphael was arrested and charged with Operating with Registration Suspended/Revoked, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Improper Plates, Operating without Insurance and a violation of Marking of Self-Propelled CMV (Transportation Law 390.21).

Raphael was processed roadside and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Sheldon Town Court at a later date.
