WYOMING COUNTY/Seven people assisted by Red Cross after apartment building fire in Warsaw Tuesday

The Red Cross assisted seven occupants after an apartment building fire in Warsaw at 94 North Main Street in the Village of Warsaw on Tuesday morning.

According to the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Management, the three-story apartment building, owned by Krafted Properties LLC, contained nine apartments. The fire on Tuesday morning displaced 10 adults along with multiple cats that were rescued during the fire.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation and released.

Four of the nine apartments suffered significant damage from the fire, while the other apartments sustained smoke and water damage. Damage is estimated at $150,000

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire companies from Warsaw. Wyoming, Varysburg, Silver Springs, Perry, Perry Center, North Java, Attica, Gainesville, Castile, Pike, Leicester, Pavilion, Nunda, Fillmore and the Town of Batavia responded to the scene, along with Perry Ambulance and Wyoming County EMS.

Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Management, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, Wyoming County Codes Dept., Warsaw Police, Warsaw DPW, NYS Police, NYSEG, RGE and the Red Cross.
