Rev. Dr. Ntuala began her walking journey this past Sunday, June 29th, from Seneca Falls, camping out along way. Today, July 2nd, 2025, Rev. Dr. Ntuala, walked the last 1.7 miles to the Batavia Detention Center on Federal Drive in the Town of Batavia.

She kicked off the last part of her walk from the corner of Ellicott Avenue and Richmond Avenue with a few words from the porch of NY-24 candidate Diane Kastenbaum who welcomed Dr. Ntuala as a house guest.

“I walk because we are living in unprecedented times. I can no longer continue with daily life as though everything is normal, because it is not,” Ntuala says. “We march to ensure that our living, breathing Constitution holds the line, to preserve democracy, to maintain the balance of our three co-equal branches of government, and to affirm the promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all. I march to take back the title Christian from Christian Nationalists. I am a patriot, but as a Christian, I am not a Nationalist. The only kingdom I believe in is the Kingdom of God and all of us were created in the image of God. We are connected to something much greater than ourselves and there are no boundary lines to God’s love.”

Ntuala says she is marching for her sons, so that they may grow up into a world where one honest job is enough to build a dignified life.

“I march for your children, too. I march for the children torn from foster care who had asylum. I march for the young people affected by sudden and sweeping changes at USAID, the NIH, the CDC, and the Departments of Education, Housing, and the Interior. I march for the least of these. I march to put my faith into action and to protect your freedom of or from religion. I march to honor the past, to illuminate the present, and to hold fast to hope for the future.”

Ntuala wants to remind our leaders and others that the Constitution belongs to all of us, and democracy must be defended with both our words and our footsteps.
