GLOW Region/Arc GLOW’s new director of public relations

Press release

MT. MORRIS — Perry resident Rebekah Diegelman has been promoted to director of Public Relations at Arc GLOW.

Diegelman has worked at Arc GLOW since she was 14 where she was a special sitter, providing respite care for children with special needs. She continued with the agency while attending Genesee Community College as a direct support professional, and when she graduated became a job coach through Arc GLOW Supported Employment Program. Since then, she has held administrative roles in the residential program and served as intake coordinator, overseeing Arc GLOW’s full intake process.

In September 2024 Diegelman joined the Public Relations team as assistant director of Public Relations and Development.

“I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the agency — not only related to the people we support, but also the services we provide,” Diegelman said. “This knowledge helps me communicate more effectively with other areas of Arc GLOW and allows me to offer a higher level of advocacy for the people we support.”

In her current role, she is directing public relations across all areas of Arc GLOW, including social media, membership, press releases, grant writing, events, marketing collateral, community outreach, donor engagement, and implementing new processes.

Diegelman has decided to grow her career with Arc GLOW because of the people the agency supports.

“When you see someone accomplish their goals whether you are working with them directly or witnessing their progress from a Public Relations perspective, you know we are part of something truly special,” she said. “Who wouldn’t want to advance their career within an agency that empowers people of all abilities to become independent, active members of their community?”

Diegelman shared Arc GLOW also offers a wide range of opportunities for professional development. In her own career, she has participated in a county leadership program, became certified to teach CPR and first aid, contributes to agency policies, and has learned essential supervisory skills.

Vice President of Public Relations and Development Lisa Bors welcomed her appointment, saying, “Rebekah’s passion for Arc GLOW runs deep, and it shows in everything she does. Her experience, dedication, and creative approach make her a tremendous asset to Arc GLOW.”

Rebekah holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Roberts Wesleyan University. She lives in Perry with her husband, Stephen, a Direct Support Professional at Arc GLOW’s Uptown Day Habilitation program, and their two daughters.

Arc GLOW is a public non-profit supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties. To learn more, visit ArcGLOW.org.
