Assemblyman Steve Hawley stopped by Lapp Insulators on Wednesday afternoon to honor the business for its induction into the NYS Historic Business Preservation Registry. The company currently employs 120 people and has been in Le Roy since 1916.
“I think it’s important for us to carry the torch of the Lapp Family and the family that created this business over 100 years ago,” says Chief Financial Officer Edward Dickey.
“I’ve been here two years now and I am honored to represent the last 100 years of Lapp employees and the company itself. It was founded back in the day by making glass insulators and now we’ve grown into this company that has a global footprint and global connections, and we continue to grow and achieve to this day. We’re excited that we’re one of the few remaining insulator manufacturers in the US, and we’re locally owned and created.”

Director of Engineering Tim VanRemmen provided a tour of the 430,000 square foot facility located at 130 Gilbert Street in Le Roy.
Products sit in a kiln for 4-5 days at over 2,000 degrees. There are 3 natural gas kilns on site.
