GENESEE COUNTY/Finest Florist & Gifts is officially open in Le Roy

Lori and Peter Brown at their new flower shop, Finest Florist and Gifts located behind No Finer Diner at 140 West Main Street in Le Roy.

When Lori and Peter Brown learned that the only flower shop in town had closed after its owner retired at the end of 2025 following 38 years of service, they decided to open their own shop to keep serving the Le Roy community.

“We just want to give back to the community. We have a great Diner, great relationship with all of our customers. People will come in here and just sit for an hour and a half and talk to me,” says Lori. “We wanted that for the floral shop too, and for them to have it just as personalized. We love the community. We just want to give back, and it’s given us so much that we need and we want to give back.”

The Browns, who have owned No Finer Diner at 140 West Main Street in Le Roy since 2019, held a soft opening on Valentines Day and have officially opened this week after Peter completed some renovations the past few months.

“We changed the footprint around; made it look different than before. Built counter space for the shop. Gave it a paint job, cleaned it all up. Just transformed it a little bit, ” Peter says.

In 2020, the ice cream shop was the only thing that saved their restaurant business during Covid.

“We could not open the diner, because the health department said we could not come in here, but they allowed us to open the ice cream shop because we didn’t change anything. So, for the first year, ice cream saved us.”

Since the ice cream shop was only open during the summer months, and the Browns wanted a business that could operate year-round, the flower shop turned out to be the perfect choice.

They decided to keep the drive-up window, and customers are welcome to drive thru to pick up their flower orders. They are open year around. To check out their gift collection customers can stop in at the store.
