Fire crews from the Alexander Fire Department were dispatched to a barn fire early Saturday morning.
According to Deputy Chief Nate Fix with the Alexander Fire Department, the collapsed barn was fully involved upon arrival at about 4:53a.m.
A passerby spotted the glow and called in the fire from Rt. 98 at 4:43a.m. without an exact address.
After locating the fire and arriving on scene at 9850 Old Creek Road, Chief Jim Burkhardt and Deputy Chief Fix requested the Town of Batavia ladder truck to the scene to assist along with tankers from Darien, East Pembroke, Bethany and Attica. Crews were able to establish a water supply from Creek Road and tankers remained on scene standing by.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation with assistance from the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department.
