Stafford Town Supervisor Bob Clement with Bob Hodgins on Friday afternoon. Mr. Clement has donated his printing equipment from his home operation which closed down in 2024.
“When we heard about the fire, I reached out to Becky’s husband, who put us in touch with Bob Hodgins,” says Michelle Clement, Mr. Clement’s daughter. Clement, who will be turning 88 next week, says he has retired from Clement Printing, which he started in his basement in 1990 after leaving Batavia Publishing.
“He’s going to do this as a hobby, says Michelle, Bob wants to show the younger people in the shop how it began with the Linotype, and Heidelburg presses that my dad has that are old school, they’re not digital.”
Clement with his hand types-“He didn’t want to see it go to the landfill, so this is perfect. It will be used; it will be working.” Clement has been a printer for 60 years.
