GENESEE COUNTY/Opponents of the data centers project rally at Rt. 77 and Lewiston Road on Saturday

Area cat joins Data Centers protest at Rt. 77 and Lewiston Road on Saturday. This is the cat’s second protest; the group previously gathered at this location last week to voice their opinions with anti-data center signs. They say they plan on protesting before the Monday, May 11th Alabama Town Board meeting at the Alabama Fire Hall at 2218 Judge Road in Oakfield, NY.

Alabama resident, Cheryl Cordes says if the planned Data Centers project moves forward, her home would be 9/10ths of a mile from the project.

“That’s why I’m out here today, this needs to get stopped. It doesn’t belong in this community, we have protected wetlands, we have the wildlife refuge, we have the Tonawanda Seneca Nation, and this is not the place for a data center,” says Cordes.

Cordes says they decided to protest today to educate visitors on their way to the wildlife refuge, as they were holding their Spring Spectacular today. Cordes says she also plans to travel to Albany on Wednesday, to find out more about the moratorium being requested at the state level. Albany, NY: Stop Data Centers Rally & Lobby Day ยท Mobilize
