WYOMING COUNTY/Wyoming woman charged with welfare fraud

A Wyoming woman was arrested after an investigation revealed that she failed to report all income and also failed to report other people living with her.

Mary M. Goodenow, 79, is charged with welfare fraud 4th, a felony, and offering a false instrument to file 1st, a felony, after an investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Social Services.

It is alleged that Goodenow failed to report income she was receiving for having two people living with her.  She also failed to report that the men were even in the household.  By failing to report her income she received $8,205.80 in county taxpayer benefits that she was not entitled to.

Goodenow will appear in the Town of Warsaw Court on June 26, 2017.
