STATE POLICE/Three Rochester residents charged in a larceny and fleeing from a trooper during a traffic stop

Three Rochester residents are facing charges after a larceny at a building in the Town of Batavia on February 22, 2018.

The incident occurred about 1:30 p.m. After a description of their vehicle was called in to dispatchers, Troopers located the vehicle traveling eastbound on the NYS Thruway.

The vehicle was pulled over near milepost 378 eastbound.

A few minutes into the traffic stop the vehicle took off on police and continued eastbound on the thruway, traveling on the shoulder of the road at times.

As the three entered Monroe County, the driver of the vehicle, Ervin Finkley, 50, lost control of the vehicle and crashed near the Scottsville service area. Finkley is charged with grand larceny 4th, a felony, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle 3rd and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th. Finkley was held after being taken into custody.

A passenger in the vehicle, Norman C. Ghee, 53, was also charged with grand larceny 4th, a felony, and was held after being taken into custody.

A third passenger in the vehicle, Desiree Ghee, 31, is charged with criminal possession of stolen property 5th, a misdemeanor. Desiree was also held after being taken into custody.
