WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/ PA Truck driver facing felony charges

A Pennsylvania man is facing felony charges following a traffic stop on Route 20a in the Town of Warsaw June 28, 2018. Jatinderpal Singh, 22, of Pennsylvania, was operating a tractor trailer westbound on Route 20a. This portion of the highway does not permit tractor trailers due to the East Hill in the Village of Warsaw. Singh was observed traveling by the designated truck turnarounds, ignoring the numerous signs stating that all trucks must exit.

Singh was stopped by Deputy Chase of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and subsequently found to have 11 suspensions on 10 different dates on his driving privilege in New York State.

Singh was arrested and charged with disobeying a traffic control device, over length vehicle on non-qualifying highway, failure to display a NYS Highway Use Tax Permit, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree (E Felony).

The tractor trailer was removed by Karson’s Towing and Singh was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court.

Singh was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Singh will return to Town Court at a later date.

 

 

Sarah Mahrukh, 33, of Ontario, Canada, was arrested on Route 63 in the Town of Covington following a dangerous pass on July 12, 2018.

Mahrukh was observed traveling 88mph in a marked 55mph zone while passing a semi on Route 63.

Several other vehicles were traveling the opposite direction and had to maneuver to avoid a collision. Mahrukh was stopped and charged with speeding 88mph in a 55mph zone, improper passing, and reckless driving. She returned to the Town of Covington Court on July 13, 2018.

 

A Town of Gainesville man is facing felony charges following a 3:15pm traffic stop on July 13th.

Steven P. Grisewood, 44, was stopped by Deputy Chase of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office on Wethersfield Road for speeding, 84mph in a marked 55mph zone.

Following a roadside investigation and field sobriety testing, Grisewood was arrested for DWI and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for a breath test. Following the breath test, Grisewood was charged with speeding, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, felony driving while intoxicated, felony driving with a BAC Greater than .08, and felony aggravated DWI for BAC of .18 or greater. The felonies stem from a prior DWI conviction within the preceding 10 years.

Grisewood was released on his own recognizance with a return date of  July 23, 2018 to the Town of Gainesville Court.
