WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Bronx man facing charges after traffic stop in Orangeville

Following an investigation into an erratically driven vehicle on Route 20A in the Town of Orangeville, Hassane Kourouma, 22, of the Bronx, NY, was arrested for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations on January 2, 2019.

Deputies located a vehicle that had been called into the Sheriff’s Office for erratic operation after almost striking another vehicle. During the stop, it was found that Kourouma’s vehicle was suspended for parking violations and that he had a suspended permit with 4 total suspensions.

Kourouma was arrested and charged with operation with suspended registration, unlicensed operation, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the third and second degrees.

He was arraigned in the Town of Orangeville Court where he was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Kourouma will return to Town Court on February 6th.

On January 1, 2019 Richard Delano, 26, of Orchard Park, was stopped on Route 20A in the Town of Warsaw for speeding in a zone.

Deputies recovered marijuana and a marijuana pipe from the vehicle. Delano was put through field sobriety testing to which he performed poorly and was placed under arrest for driving while ability impaired by drugs.

He was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office to undergo a drug influence evaluation with a certified Drug Recognition Expert. After the evaluation Delano was found to be impaired by drugs.

He was issued tickets for speeding in a zone and driving while ability impaired by drugs and is to appear in Warsaw Town Court on February 25, 2019 at 5:00p.m. to answer the charges.

Deputy Nowak and Trooper Bryman responded to an address on South Academy Street in the Village of Wyoming on December 25, 2018 for a reported domestic incident.

During the investigation Ashly N. Finkney, 31, of Wyoming, became belligerent and aggressive towards officers.

Deputy Nowak placed Finkney under arrest for obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor.

She was transported to the Village of Wyoming Court for arraignment and was released on recognizance with a return court date of January 14, 2019 at 5:30p.m.

Jordan L. McMurtry, 32, of Warsaw, was arrested at the Wyoming County Probation Department on December 28, 2018 for a violation of probation warrant.

McMurtry is currently monitored by the Probation Department for a 2017 petit larceny conviction.

McMurtry was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail on no bail. McMurtry appeared in Town Court on January 7, 2019.

Michael D. Tarrant, 20, of Milltown, New Jersey, was arrested following a traffic stop on Rt. 20A in the Town of Perry on December 30, 2018.

Tarrant was the rear seat passenger in a vehicle which had been stopped for speeding. Tarrant was found in possession of concentrated cannabis (a controlled substance), marijuana, and multiple drug paraphernalia items.

Tarrant was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Tarrant was processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and issued appearance tickets to answer the charges in the Town of Perry Court on January 30, 2019 .

Ryan A. Schwab, 22, of N. Java, was arrested following a traffic stop on Rt. 78 in the Town of Java on January 1, 2019. Schwab was observed speeding on Rt. 78 in Java Center, and when police attempted to perform a traffic stop, Schwab’s vehicle swerved half into the oncoming lane before pulling over to the right.

Schwab failed roadside field sobriety testing, and he was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

Schwab is charged with DWI, driving with .08% BAC or higher, speeding in a zone, and failure to keep right. Schwab was released to his parents and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Java Court on January 17, 2019 to answer the charges.

Deputies responded to the area of Exchange Street Road near Sonricker Road in the Town of Attica for a Tractor-Trailer rollover accident on January 5, 2019.

After an investigation it was found that the vehicle was heading southbound when it went off the roadway and struck a gravel driveway between two fields. The semi-trailer did not rollover, but the operator of the semi-trailer, George Brown, 63, from Piffard did sustain injuries and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

On December 30, 2018, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to Rt. 39 in the Town of Eagle for a one car accident with injury.

Upon arrival, it was found that Dalton Willett, 21, of Gainesville, had driven off the south side of Rt 39. Willett’s vehicle struck two mailboxes before striking the end of a guide rail prior to coming to a stop.

Willett was transported to WCCH for an eye injury. The Eagle Fire Department assisted on scene.
