STATE POLICE/LeRoy woman arrested for felony DWI following an accident on the Thruway

On January 25, 2019, at approximately 6:17 p.m., State Police responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on I-90 in the town of Lancaster. 

The uninjured driver, Heather M. Spiegel, 44, of LeRoy, NY, had a suspended license and was found to be intoxicated.  Spiegel was transported and processed at SP Buffalo, where she refused to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content in her system.  Additionally, Spiegel has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and was subsequently charged with the following:

  • Driving While Intoxicated; a Class E Felony
  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree; a Class E Felony
  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations

Spiegel was arraigned before the Town of Lancaster Court where she was released to a sober third party.  A return court date of February 14, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Town of Lancaster has been set.
