ORLEANS COUNTY/Four arrested on drug charges after vehicle stop in Medina

ON FEBRUARY 20, 2019, AFTER AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE SALE AND DISTRIBUTION OF THC (DELTA-9-TETRAHYDROCANNABINOL) VAPING CARTRIDGES, THE ORLEANS COUNTY MAJOR FELONY CRIME TASK FORCE ALONG WITH THE MEDINA POLICE DEPT. EXECUTED A SEARCH WARRANT AT 541 EAST CENTER ST. IN THE VILLAGE OF MEDINA AND ON A VEHICLE THAT WAS STOPPED ON MAPLE RIDGE ROAD, IN THE VILLAGE OF MEDINA. AS A RESULT OF THIS INVESTIGATION FOUR INDIVIDUALS WERE ARRESTED ON NUMEROUS DRUG CHARGES.

POLICE SEIZED: 50 THC VAPE CATRIDGES WITH A STREET VALUE OF $2,800.00, OVER 10 OUNCES OF HIGH GRADE MARIHUANA WITH A STREET VALUE OF $2,500.00, OVER AN OUNCE OF MARIHUANA WAX (CONCENTRATED CANNABIS) WITH A STREET VALUE OF $2,800.00, OVER $1,000.00 IN CASH, SCALES, PACAKGING AND OTHER DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.

THC (DELTA-9-TETRAHYDRCANNABINOL) OR CONCENTRATED CANNABIS IS A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.

VAPING THC DOES NOT REPLICATE THE UNMISTAKABLE ODOR OF MARIHUANA THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH TRADITIONAL SMOKING.

A VARIETY OF FLAVORING CAN BE, AND IS, OFTEN TIMES ADDED TO MASK THE SMELL OF THC. VAPING THC RESULTS IN A HIGHER CONCENTRATION OF THC BEING ABSORBED INTO THE BODY, RESULTING IN GREATER EXPOSURE TO MARIHUANA’S MIND ALTERING INGREDIENT. 5 COUNTS OF CRIMINAL SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE FIFTH DEGREE. (CLASS D FELONIES).

5 COUNTS OF CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED

SUBSTANCE IN THE THIRD DEGREE. (CLASS D FELONIES).

JOSHUA CUADRADO, AGE 22, OF VIKING WAY BROCKPORT,

N.Y., HE WAS CHARGED WITH:

1 COUNT OF CRIMINAL SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN

THE FIFTH DEGREE. (CLASS D FELONY).

2 COUNTS OF CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED

SUBSTANCE IN THE FIFTH DEGREE. (CLASS D FELONIES).

BENNIE L. COGER, AGE 24, OF EAST CENTER ST. MEDINA,

N.Y., HE IS CHARGED WITH:

2 COUNTS OF CRIMINAL POSSESION OF A CONTROLLED

SUBSTANCE IN THE FIFTH DEGREE. (CLASS D FELONIES).

DOREENE M. CASSELMAN, AGE 58, OF EAST CENTER ST.

MEDINA, N.Y., SHE WAS CHARGES WITH:

1 COUNT OF CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED

SUBSTANCE IN THE SEVENTH DEGREE. (CLASS A MISDEMEANOR)

1 COUNT OF UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF MARAIHUANA.

DOREENE M. CASSLEMAN WAS ISSUED AN APPEARANCE TICKET RETURNABLE TO TOWN OF RIDGEWAY COURT ON MARTH 4, 2019 AT 9:00 A.M.

JOSHUA CUADRADO AND BENNIE L. COGER WERE ARRAIGNED IN TOWN OF SHELBY JUSTICE COURT BY THE HON. DAWN KEPPLER, THEY WERE BOTH COMMITTED TO THE ORLEANS COUNTY JAIL ON $5,000.00 CASH BAIL OR $10,000.00 BOND. BOTH ARE TO RETURN TO THE TOWN OF SHELBY JUSTICE COURT ON MARCH 7, 2019 AT 6:00 P.M.

KAITLYN ALBONE WAS ARRAIGNED IN TOWN OF RIDGEWAY JUSTICE COURT BY THE HON. JOSEPH KUJAWA, SHE WAS COMMITTED TO THE ORLEANS COUNTY JAIL ON $10,000.00 CASH BAIL OR $20,000.00 BOND.SHE IS TO RETURN TO THE TOWN OF RIDGEWAY JUSTICE COURT ON FEBRUARY 25, 2019 AT 10:30 A.M.

FURTHER ARRESTS AND CHARGES ARE PENDING IN THIS INVESTIGATION.
