GLOW (Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties) region economic development agency executives, workforce development leaders and educators were joined by New York State Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul to announce a day-long hands-on career exploration event, GLOW With Your Hands, which will be held on September 24, 2019 at the Genesee County Fairgrounds.
Over 1,000 students from 28 school districts across the GLOW region are expected to attend GLOW With Your Hands where they will be able to experience first-hand activities associated with careers, like welding, bricklaying, electrical wiring, heavy equipment operation, advanced manufacturing and many others.
Major employers in the GLOW region and various construction trades unions will be attending the event to simulate the functions and skills of the various jobs that are in demand.
