“Stuff the Cruiser” event helps Genesee County families in need during the holiday season

Law enforcement agencies from Genesee County participated in the 2nd annual “Stuff the Cruiser” event at Target Plaza on Veteran’s Memorial Drive in Batavia today.

LeRoy Police Officer Sgt. Greg Kellogg and Christine Gephart, of the Rotary Club of LeRoy, started the event last year in the Village of LeRoy at Tops Supermarket collecting non perishable food items.

This year Sgt. Kellogg decided the event should be opened up to the entire Genesee County community and all local law enforcement agencies throughout the county.

The LeRoy Police Department along with the NYS Police, Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Probation Dept., NYS/Department of Environmental Conservation, Corfu Police, the City of Batavia Police Department and Rotary of LeRoy collected about 10-12 full size pick up loads of unwrapped toys, $600 in monetary donations and gift cards worth $250.

Donations will be distributed to families in need for the holiday season.

All donations will remain in Genesee County and be distributed by each of the School Districts in Genesee County.
