Press release

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information to try and identify the operator of a snowmobile operator who was riding with a group around noon on Sunday, March 1 2020 near Hiram Road in the Town of Arcade.

An older Tri County Drift Hoppers Snowmobile Club member was working on snowmobile trail C-3 in a flooded area located between Hiram Road and Cadwell Road.

A group of 4-5 snowmobiles approached from the Bliss area and had modified exhaust systems on their snowmobiles which area illegal and upset many landowners because of the loud noise they make.

The club member advised the leader of this group with this information who then became upset and then began to assault the club member causing injuries.

A farmer on his tractor working in a field near the trail observed the assault and ran to assist.

The group of snowmobilers then left the scene heading towards Arcade.

The operator is described as a larger white male wearing a black full faced helmet and was operating mid 2000’s yellow and black Ski Doo Rev with a “can” exhaust muffler.
