Great Grandpa Frank Sacheli and Great Grandson Joseph Sacheli share the same birthday, May 18th.
Today, Great Grandpa Frank turned 100 and Great Grandson Joseph is 4 years old.
The whole family also shares the love of being a firefighter.
Leading off the birthday parade today was an engine and a ladder truck from the City of Batavia Fire Department, where Joseph’s dad Mark has been a City Firefighter since 2010.
Great Grandpa Frank is also a retired volunteer firefighter with the Brockport Fire Department. Joseph is not far behind, driving his new fire truck, decked out in his firefighter gear , he met the fire trucks at the road as they went by with lights and sirens. He says he wants to be a firefighter someday too.
Great Grandpa Frank says the trick to turning 100 is behaving yourself, eating your greens, no smoking or drinking and a lot of hard work. Frank ran his own farm on the muck, growing onions, lettuce and carrots. He still gets outside while living in Florida, swimming and taking care of the yard.
