STATE POLICE/Fatal collision involving a runner in Bergen

PRESS RELEASE

On May 18, 2020 at approximately 11:55 A.M., Troopers responded to State Route 262 just east of S. Lake Road in the town of Bergen for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. 

Further investigation revealed that a 2012 Nissan Rogue operated by David A. Yulfo, 28 was traveling east on State Route 262 and crossed into the west bound lane and onto the shoulder striking a runner, Kara G. Hall, 25 of Bergen, NY. 

The Nissan continued traveling off the roadway striking a fire hydrant and coming to rest after striking a tree.  Yulfo was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Hall was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit, Bergen Fire Department and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office assisted with this investigation.

This is still an ongoing investigation.

  2. Kara was a real person who made a real impact on others. This is a terrible tragedy.
    She will be remembered with only light. Please don’t forget that your time here is much shorter than you think it is.
