GENESEE COUNTY/Driver of ATV in critical condition after colliding with a parked vehicle in Oakfield

A 45 year old man is in critical condition after striking a parked car in a driveway while riding an ATV in the area of 22 Drake street in Oakfield.

Fire and emergency crews were called to the scene about 10:20p.m on Wednesday night.

James P. Lucki, of Drake street road, Oakfield, was operating a 2003 Arctic Cat four wheel ATV in an eastbound direction on Drake street, when the ATV crossed over into the westbound lane and left the roadway off the north shoulder. The ATV then struck a 2020 Toyota two door car which was parked in the driveway of a residence. Lucki was ejected from the ATV.

2nd Assistant Chief Jeff McIntire with the Oakfield Fire Department says Lucki was located behind the vehicle that he struck, on the ground.

“He was conscious and alert upon arrival, his condition deteriorated as we moved him to Mercy Flight. He was not conscious and alert when he was flown from the scene to ECMC,” says McIntire.

Lucki suffered lower leg injuries, chest injuries and abdominal injuries. The car was unoccupied.

As of 7:16a.m. this morning, Lucki is currently listed in critical condition.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident. The Oakfield Volunteer Fire Department and medics from Mercy EMS assisted at the scene.
