PRESS RELEASE
On July 29, 2020 the Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of SP Batavia arrested Colleen L. Nelson, 49, of Alabama, NY for Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Attempted Assault 1st degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree.
On July 29, 2020 at 1:30 P.M., Troopers out of SP Batavia responded to South Main Street in the town of Elba for a stabbing. Further investigation revealed that Nelson came up behind another employee and began to stab him with a large knife. The 59-year-old victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Nelson was arrested and taken to SP Batavia for processing.
Nelson is being arraigned at the city of Batavia Court and remanded to Genesee County Jail.
