WYOMING COUNTY/Three time convicted felon accused of threatening a person with a knife in the Town of Arcade

On August 30, 2020, dispatchers received a report of a person with a knife in an altercation in the Town of Arcade.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies, along with New York State Police and the Arcade Police Department responded to Arcade Valley Estates in the Town of Arcade following the reported incident.

After an investigation, it was alleged that Stephen J. Verstreate, 27, of Sodus, NY, a three time convicted felon, had pulled a knife and threatened to use it against a victim while in the presence of his three children.

Lacritia K. Verstreate, 22, of Seneca Falls, NY, was also alleged to have been involved in pushing during the incident. There was also an order of protection prohibiting her from being near Stephen J. Verstreate. Both were arrested and charged as follows:

STEPHEN J. VERSTREATE: CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON IN THE THIRD DEGREE (CLASS D FELONY), CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON IN THE FOURTH DEGREE, MENACING IN THE SECOND DEGREE, ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD

LACRITIA K. VERSTREATE: CRIMINAL CONTEMPT IN THE SECOND DEGREE, ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD

Both subjects were arraigned virtually through Warsaw Court as a part of the Central Arraignment Part.

Stephen J. Verstreate was held without bail due to his current felony charge and having more than one prior felony conviction.

Lacritia K. Verstreate was held in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail, $10,000.00 bond, or $20,000.00 partially secured bond.

Both are scheduled for further court proceedings in Wyoming County Court on September 24, 2020. Following arraignment, both are being held in the Wyoming County Jail to await their future court date.
