WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/October 19, 2021

On October 15, 2021, a Caledonia man was arrested following the investigation of a Chevy Tahoe that was stolen from a residence in the Town of Java in July 2021.

Joshua Sumeriski, 18 , of Caledonia, N.Y. was charged with grand larceny in the third degree.

Sumeriski was arraigned before Wyoming County Judge Mohun and committed to the Wyoming County Jail on $2500 bail. Sumeriski is scheduled to appear in the Town of Java Court at a later date.

Michael J. Appleby, 50, of Perry, was arrested following a complaint at a home on Route 20A in the Town of Perry on October 13, 2021. Appleby was found to be in violation of a stay away order of protection, barring him from the residence due to it belonging to the protected party.

Appleby is charged with criminal contempt in the second degree and was arraigned in the town of Perry Court, where he was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
