GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Hamlin woman charged after fleeing scene of accident in Bergen

Rebecca L. Martin, 27, of Hamlin, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08%, reckless endangerment 2nd, operator leaving the scene of an injury accident/failure to show license/prior offense, and reckless driving, after a two-vehicle accident with injuries at South Lake street road and Buffalo road in Bergen on January 14, 2022.

Deputies say that Martin allegedly fled from the scene of the accident after failing to stop for a stop sign and striking another vehicle. Deputies later located Martin’s vehicle near the LeRoy Park and Ride on Rt. 19, and while attempting to stop the vehicle, Martin nearly struck a Village of LeRoy patrol car.

After an investigation, Martin was allegedly operating her motor vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol. She was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and released with appearance tickets.

Martin will appear in Bergen Town Court on February 2, 2022 at 5:00p.m.
