A Genesee County Grand Jury has indicted Daniel W. Knauss, accusing him of the crime of assault on a police officer, a class C violent felony, after allegedly causing a serious physical injury to a NYS Trooper on September 29, 2021 in the Town of Pavilion.

In count 2, Knauss is accused of assault second degree, a class D violent felony, in the same incident mentioned above.

In count 3, Knauss is further accused of criminal contempt second degree, a class A felony. Knauss intentionally disobeyed or resisted the lawful process, an order of protection, on September 14, 2021, by allegedly harassing, intimidating, threatening or interfering by striking a football out of the victim’s hands.

In count 4, during the September 29, 2021 incident in Pavilion, Knauss allegedly violated an order of protection subjecting the victim to physical contact and is accused of criminal contempt first degree, a class E felony.

In count 5, Knauss is accused of resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor, after intentionally preventing or attempted to prevent a police officer from an authorized arrest of himself or another person.

In count 6, the indictment further accuses Knauss of harassment second degree in the above-mentioned incident, subjecting the victim to physical contact.

In count 7, Knauss is accused of harassment second degree in the above-mentioned incident, subjecting a Sheriff’s Deputy to physical contact.

Tamaneek T. Perez-Smith is facing a seven-count indictment and is accused of the crimes of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, a class E felony, aggravated unlicensed operation third degree, DWI as a class E felony, driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of drugs or alcohol, a class E felony, resisting arrest, harassment in the second degree, subjecting a deputy to physical contact and circumvention of an interlock device.

Perez-Smith was allegedly driving a 2010 Dodge on Park Road in the Town of Batavia on Sept. 30, 2021, knowing her license was revoked and allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Perez-Smith was previously convicted of DWI as a misdemeanor on May 18, 2021, in the Town of Batavia, which forms the basis for the suspension referred to in Count 1 as the suspension was still in effect from the prior conviction.

Tarrence Y. Williams has been indicted and is accused of the crimes of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony.

Williams is accused of being in possession of cocaine with a weight of an eighth of an ounce or more, with the intent to sell on December 16, 2021, in the City of Batavia.
