GENESEE COUNTY/Local clergy meet with Pastor Doyle on Saturday in regard to the controversial event scheduled at Cornerstone Church

Video-Rev. Dr. Roula Alkhouri on meeting with Pastor Paul Doyle at Cornerstone Church on Saturday UPDATE: The Saturday meeting with Pastor Doyle. “We are still processing how it went, but the good news is that we shared our concerns and left him with a letter detailing our concerns so that he would pray about it and consider cancelling the event,” says Rev. Dr. Roula Alkhouri.

“I pray for the grace of God to help me speak out of love, hopefully it’s a good conversation, a conversation out of love for concern for him(Pastor Doyle), I hope that he would see me as a sister in Christ that would reach out to him and say, have you considered the ramifications of bringing a group that is associated with this kind of structure of violence where maybe the speakers don’t come out and say it publicly, some of them do, they let the people connect the dots,” says Alkhouri.

The event in question is the ReAwaken America Tour that was originally supposed to happen in Rochester, NY on August 12th and 13th, but due to pressure on the venue operator from musical acts who canceled their appearances and pressure from the public, it has since relocated to Batavia at the Cornerstone Church on Bank street road. Due to the content talked about during the event, many feel the event should not be held, including many clergy in Genesee County.

Alkhouri says she and two other local clergy will present a letter to Doyle with 18 local clergy signatures. She says she has been looking into the event online and has viewed several videos of the event in other cities around the country.

“I have printed a couple of pages of illustrations for him and I really focused on the violence part and you know the fear.”

Alkhouri spoke to protesters in front of City Centre on Saturday afternoon.

139th Assembly Candidate Jennifer Keys, who is running against Steve Hawley, says the location of today’s protest is significant because of a 1924 event where the Ku Klux Klan attempted to march down Main street in the City of Batavia. (For a time in the 1920s, Klan popular in Genesee County | The Batavian)

The group meeting with Pastor Doyle at Cornerstone Church occurred sometime today and Alkhouri says she hopes that after a few days of prayer and thinking about the situation that Pastor Doyle will do what is right for his congregation and Genesee County.

  1. Perhaps there should be people besides the congregation there to stand for the right to FREE SPEECH. Where were all of these “protesters” when Brockport college insisted the cop MURDERER had a right to free speech!?! Oh-that’s right-most likely they were FOR HIS right to freedom of speech. Let’s remember, this clergy woman SELECTED what to print, she also stated
“the speakers don’t come out and say it publicly, some of them do, they let the people connect the dots,” says Alkhouri.

  2. Convenient how the Daily News like a this to the KKK 🙄.

  3. Isn’t it interesting that this woman is a gay rights pastor supporting/spearheading this protest in full violation of basic Christianity?

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black…

  4. The hypocricy of the left is astounding, and what’s worse is the IGNORANCE… Both willful and chosen, as well as indoctrinated and manipulated by fake media, the current GOVT selected administration and social media.

Folks need to wake up and do their own REAL research instead of going by feelings and what someone else said. Quit walking with blinders on. quit with the narrow minded one way or no way thinking…….

I live here in the “GLOW” region and these Democratic Socialists of America don’t speak for me nor do they speak for anyone else but themselves…… STOP WITH THE RHETORIC AND SPEWAGE OF LIES … THE FIRST AMENDMENT APPLIES TO EVERYONE, NOT JUSTR A SELECT FEW….

  5. Wonder where this woman “ pastor” and her fellow protestors were during the recent drag queen story hour and parade for children in Batavia??? And I never recall seeing them protesting when then-Governor Cuomo and Lt Governor Kathy Hochul legalized murdering the unborn through the 9th month here in New York State in 2019!?! Seems the only thing these protesters are opposed to is freedom of speech. Anyone going to her church should be finding a new church ASAP! Or taking action to remove her.

  6. This is ridiculous. Are all the basement dwellers threatened? It has nothing to do with white supremacy or hate. It has to do with trying to get people to have common sense, be responsible for their actions, stop being sheep !!!

  7. This so called “pastor” does not represent true Christianity… she is a follower of Marcus Borg, who rewrote the life of Jesus. She has communist ideology, rejecting capitalism and industrialism, the very things that built this country…the country that welcomed her in from Syria. She has injected herself into every controversy for apparent self promotion, perhaps she would find her time better spent on studying the constitution, starting with the first amendment. Isn’t it rather amazing, that these progressive leftists, feel they can flap their jaws relentlessly for their agendas, but blatantly reject and wish to silence anyone with an opinion other than theirs? She is a disgrace..a modern day Pharisee, at best.
