BATAVIA POLICE BLOTTER/Burke Drive woman kicks officers during arrest after threatening to kill another person

Jill M. Turner, 41, of Burke Drive, Batavia, NY, is charged with harassment 2nd, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and endangering the welfare of a child. On 06/05/2023, Officer Crossett arrested Turner on the above listed charges. City of Batavia Police Department Officers were in the process of arresting Turner on another matter when she became combative and physically resisted arrest while in the presence of her 11-year-old daughter. Turner kicked officers and created a hazard for her child. Turner was processed at the Batavia Police Department, arraigned in Batavia City Court before Judge WILLIAMS, and released under supervision with a return date of 06/13/2023 at 1:30 pm.

Jill M. Turner, 41, of Burke Drive, Batavia, NY, is charged with harassment 2nd, criminal contempt 2nd, and endangering the welfare of a child. On 6/05/23, Officer Crossett arrested Turner on the above charges.  Turner allegedly threatened to kill a person in violation of an order of protection, while the protected party was with a child at a local city park.  Turner was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released under supervision with a return date of 6/13/23 at 1:30 pm.

Tommy L. Crawford, 34, of Walnut Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with petit larceny and on an out of state warrant as a fugitive from justice. On 6/05/23, Officer Moscicki arrested Crawford for petit larceny after he allegedly stole from a business on East Main Street.  Crawford was then found to have an outstanding warrant from an agency in Pennsylvania where Crawford is accused of making terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another person, disorderly conduct, harassment, and solicitation of a ride.  Crawford was arraigned in Batavia City Court on the outstanding warrant and remanded to the Genesee County Jail pending extradition.  He was issued an appearance ticket for the petit larceny charge.

 

Kevin M. McCoy, 56, of West Main Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with criminal contempt 1st degree, criminal tampering 3rd degree, and burglary 2nd degree. On 05/31/2023, at or about 6:37PM, Patrol was dispatched to a residence on Ross Street for the report of a disturbance. The complainant advised Officers Messmer and Rissinger that McCoy had been in her home while she was gone and had torn down her curtains as well as dumped her garbage on the kitchen floor. It was found that McCoy did have an active stay away order of protection with the complainant being the protected party. McCoy was located a short time after the incident and taken into custody by Officer Messmer. McCoy is charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, burglary in the second degree and criminal tampering in the third degree. McCoy was processed by the City of Batavia Police Department and arraigned in CAP court. Status unknown.

Jeffrey A. Hewitt, 44 of North Street, LeRoy, NY, is charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st degree, and failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. On 6/2/2023, at or about 9:25PM, City of Batavia Police responded to the corner of Clinton Street and East Avenue for the report of a Motor Vehicle Accident. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver of a vehicle involved, Jeffrey A. Hewitt, was allegedly driving while intoxicated. Hewitt was arrested by Officer Weglarski and charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st degree, and Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations. Hewitt was held at the Genesee County Jail overnight for arraignment on the morning of 6/3/2023. At arraignment, he was remanded to the Genesee County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Batavia City Court on 6/13/2023 at 1:00 PM

Lyndsay T. Young, 40, of Park Road, Batavia, NY, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd degree and aggravated family offense. On 6/10/23, Officer Yung arrested Young on the above charges.  Young allegedly violated a stay away order of protection by contacting the protected party.  Young was issued an appearance ticket and is to appear in Batavia City Court on 6/13/23.

Frank R. Cratsenberg, 62, homeless, is charged with petit larceny. On 6/07/23, Officer DeFelice arrested Cratsenberg for petit larceny after he allegedly shoplifted beer from a business on Jackson Street.  Cratsenberg was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 6/20/23 at 1:00 pm and released.

Kody A. Wenzel, 30, of Brooklyn Avenue, Batavia, NY, is charged with petit larceny. On 6/8/23, Officer Yung arrested Wenzel for petit larceny after she allegedly stole medication from a family member.  Wenzel was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 6/20/23 at 1:00 pm and released.
